I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Sony Pictures kicked off CinemaCon with their gala presentation last night, featuring sneak peeks at footage from The Dark Tower, Baby Driver, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer arriving later today, and much to our surprise, Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner sequel 2049. Warner Bros were expected to show off footage from the film at their presentation tomorrow night, given they are distributing it in North America, but Sony – who co-financed the film and are distributing it internationally – took the lead in debuting a new sizzle for the film. Reporters from IMDb, who were there at the presentation last night, are suggesting that this brand new trailer will be arriving tomorrow.

If this indeed pans out, Wednesday will be a big day for sci-fi fans with this trailer and a brand new peek at Luc Besson’s Valerian both arriving. If you are looking for descriptions of the CinemaCon footage, multiple sites including The Playlist have them – but bear in mind there’s a chance that the widely-released trailer may be different from the CinemaCon footage, as it often can be. Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman also noted that there will be more to come from 2049 during the Warner Bros. presentation on Wednesday evening. As always, as soon as we get any more information, we will be sure to update – and have the new trailer here whenever it’s launched online.
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard, a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
With a massive ensemble cast including Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas and Jared Leto, Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 arrives in U.S. and UK cinemas October 6, 2017. See the first teaser from last December below:
